Most Indian colleges, following AICTE and university norms, require students to attend at least 75% of classes in every subject to be eligible for end-term exams. Fall below it and you can be "detained" โ barred from writing the exam regardless of your marks.
This calculator turns the rule into practical numbers: how many bunks you have left, how many classes you've already missed, and โ if you're short โ exactly how many classes in a row you need to attend to get back above the line.
Divide classes attended by classes held and multiply by 100. If 95 classes were held and you attended 78, that's 78 รท 95 ร 100 = 82.1%.
It depends on your current ratio: the further above 75% you are, the more you can skip. The "Can still bunk" card gives the exact number โ after skipping that many, you'd sit exactly on the required line, so keeping a small buffer is wise.
Usually yes, as long as you can still attend future classes. The "Must attend to recover" card shows how many consecutive future classes you need to attend (with zero further absences) to reach exactly the required percentage.
Just change the "Required attendance" field to 80 (or anything from 1 to 100). All calculations โ bunks, recovery, projections โ update instantly.
Rules vary โ some colleges condone leaves with certificates, but most still count them as absences in the raw ratio. Use this tool with your college's counting convention for accurate results.
