Privacy Policy

Plain-language privacy. No legalese walls.

The short version

Most ToolLove tools run 100% in your browser — your files never leave your device. A few tools (PDF Protect, PDF Unlock, Markdown → PDF) need server processing: those files are sent over HTTPS, processed, and deleted automatically afterwards. We don't have accounts, and we never look at your files. For site statistics we use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookieless, privacy-friendly tool that counts page visits without identifying you or storing cookies.

Browser-based tools

The majority of our tools — compressors, converters, calculators, generators — process everything locally on your device using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted. If you open your network tab while using them, you'll see no file uploads to our servers.

Server-processed tools

PDF Protect, PDF Unlock, and Markdown → PDF run on our server because browsers can't do that work. For these tools:

• Encrypted transfer: files are uploaded over HTTPS.
• Temporary only: files live in a temporary folder solely for processing.
• Automatic deletion: files are deleted immediately after your download is ready. A safety sweeper also removes any leftovers (for example after a crash) within 1 hour — guaranteed.
• Passwords: if you set or enter a password, it is passed to our PDF engine through protected temporary files — never in server logs or visible process lists — and destroyed right after use.
• No human eyes: files are processed by software only. Nobody at ToolLove views, copies, or shares your documents.

What we don't collect

• No accounts, no names, no email addresses.
• Privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) — counts visits, sets no cookies, collects no personal data.
• No cookies for tracking. (We set none at all.)
• No advertising profiles.

What we do collect (minimal)

• Server logs: our server keeps brief technical logs (timestamps, error messages) to keep the service running and block abuse. These contain no file contents.
• Rate limiting: we count requests per IP address to prevent abuse. These counters are held in memory and reset automatically.

Third parties

Our site is hosted on Netlify (frontend) and our backend runs on our own server. We don't sell or share any data with third parties, because we barely collect any.

Your control

Because we don't keep accounts or store your files, there's nothing to export or delete on request — your data is already gone. If you have a privacy question, reach us via the contact page.
